Estimated amount billed out to insurance ranges from $2500-4000 depending on case complexity. The amount due by you depends on your specific plan. Our clinic manager will prepare an ‘Estimate of Patient Costs’ prior to your appointment outlining your expected financial responsibility for services. 50% of your expected cost will be due at the time of check-in for testing. You will be billed directly for all additional monies following processing of the insurance claim.
Academic Achievement Testing
Insurance companies have deemed academic achievement testing not to be medically necessary. You may be able to access academic testing through your public school district free of charge. Should you elect to pursue academic testing through Goldfinch Neurobehavioral Services you will incur additional out-of-pocket costs. As of August 1st, 2022 our academic testing fees will be set at $250 per domain. The three primary domains include reading, written expression, and mathematics. Prior to your appointment you will be asked to identify the areas you would like evaluated to facilitate development of a cost estimate. On the day of the evaluation your provider will inform you if assessment of additional academic domains is recommended and you will have the opportunity to agree or decline at that time.
Self-Pay
Self-pay evaluations receive an 18% discount on our hourly billed rate. The current hourly billed rate is $250. The length of the neuropsychological evaluation is dependent upon case complexity, the child’s age, and their level of cooperation with testing procedures. School-aged children typically require 10-14 hours for interview, direct testing, scoring, interpretation, verbal review of findings, and development of the written report. Prior to your appointment the neuropsychologist assigned to your case will review your child’s information and provide you with an estimate of costs. An additional 2% discount is available for self-pay patients who elect to pay by cash or check.
